Yet another clan.

With the addition of this clan, i am now in 3 clans at once. I've been in around...6 clans in all i think.

Anyway, the new clan is bw (which stands for Barbed Wire). The tags are bw#Katalyst. It's an ET (Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory) clan and so far everythings gone well.

Fi lost their old server due to a member becoming inactive (who is now kicked). But we have two new members working on servers. With luck we'll have two servers: a private one for scrims (10 slots) and a public one with 20 slots.

Also, we restarted the clan about a month ago but we've already built back up to 10 members.

In less important Fi news, we have two sets of tags now: Fatal Insanity//*name* and .::Fi|*name*::. The rule regarding tags is that they must match whatever other clan member is currently in that server.

P.S. sorry i haven't updated the blog lately. Been busy =P

FF7 Marathon Cont.

B3nt finally had time to come over to continue our little FF7 marathon mentioned in previous posts. We got a little farther but couldn't figure out a couple of side-questy things...not that it matters...We moved on to the next scene however and did the part we had already done once but couldn't find a save point before...I'm contemplating on the fact whether i should do a review or not. Becuz it's a really great/legendary game, but it's also really old. So any comments on whether i should or not would be appreciated. After all, i am still trying to finish my other reviews first so...ya.

Overview:
Morrowind was one of the first, if not the only RPG to use a first person perspective, this and many other things made this game not only great, but legendary. Many people would argue with this fact but that would be those action lovers who only care about the fighting in a game. However, the fighting belongs in a different section of the review, not here, so we'll move on. Morrowind is both on the PC and on the Xbox, however this review is specifically for the xbox Game of the Year version of Morrowind, which includes both the Bloodmoon (in the picture) and the Tribunal expansion pacts. now this game (with both expansion packs) only costs somewhere around 20 bucks which is remarkable for how good it is.

Overview:
Each game in the Halo Series has become a modern classic once it came out. Halo2 was the prime, it was when everyone noticed it. Even some non-gamers (poor them) had heard of it. In fact, my guess would be that some people became gamers for Halo2. With Halo for gamers to go back and play, and Halo3 coming up soon for the Xbox360, people can have as much Halo as they want.

This is one of the many places where Halo2 shines, not only is it a major update from Halo but it raised the bar for many future Xbox games. When I first bought this game, b3nt came over and the first thing I showed him was a dead Heretic Elite, and the first thing he said; "Wow...that's amazing.". I my self had thought similar thoughts when I bought it. Every character in the game is highly detailed and the environments are too. Maybe this isn't as good as Doom3, even Doom3 on the xbox, but this came out before that and it's still close enough.
Gameplay:
The gameplay in Halo2 isn't all that different from Halo so there isn't much to write about here. Some new breeds of Covenant may slightly affect the gameplay, especially those pesky jackal snipers, and the AI is better.
Controls:

Once again, the controls aren't much different here then in it's predecessor so there isn't much to talk about...in fact, unless I think of something later, i'm not going to write anything about the controls.

Sound:

Now the marines can talk clearer and with accents, and the gun sounds are obviously going to be crisper.The music has been improved as well, but there's still the classic 'halo' music. Overall, every bit of sound in the game has been improved, either by a lot or hardly even noticeable.

Other:

I suggest reading the Halo Literature too, if your a halo fan, becuz for being modeled off a video game, they're really good.

Also the multiplayer map pack is coming up real soon and that'll keep most gamers busy for awhile.

Your Reviews aren't very strict either...Your AA: SF Review is more like an appraisal. Look at the bad things in the game as well, and don't say there aren't any bad things about AA: SF because i know plenty of people who could disagree. Also don't jump to conclusions about my reviews or my skill, or my knowledge about a game, and then post it publicly. There may be more to it then what meets the eye. Like if you read my 'counter comment' on your comment on my AA: SF review.

Picture this, a free fps, with 1,000s of players, and the most realistic military shooter of all time!!! Enter Americas Army, completely free for download on www.americasarmy.com no strings attached. Before you start playing on any servers you have to complete some training first. No big deal right? Dead wrong, these training missions are extremely tough and will require lots of retrys. When you play you have somthing called hournor points. You earn these, not just by killing people, but also by playing as a medic and healing teammates, you loose hournor points(my spelling sucks). At some point you will want to work your way up to the special forces rank in training. After passing a few tests you will have to complete the Escape & Evade course. Ladies and gentl- ah who am I kidding, just gentlemen, this is the hardest training mission EVER!!!!!! Have fun buying that strategy guide. For the most part this is a free game you cant refuse. s33 u 0n teh s3v3rs, n00bs!

Yoshi Touch & go is 1 of the best games out 4 the DS(cause almost everything else on DS SUCKS!) The concept is simple, use the touch screen to draw clouds to keep baby Mario from hitting object, then draw clouds to guide yoshi over pits and throw eggs at those pesky creatures. What comes out is an immensely enjoyable game that is perfect for car rides. This is one of those games that will keep you entertained for 45 minutes (that's really long for a portable non-RPG) and you can go back to it later and start all over again. Bottom line, if you own a DS this is a must have.

The gang falls to the pavement as a woman screams. Just then the cops pull up and put a bullet through your leg. What do you do? Hit the reset button of course. This will happen many a time with the slew of gangsta games hitting the shelves. 50 Cent:Bulletproof, Fear & Respect, 25 to Life, 187: Ride or Die, and who could forget Grand Theft Auto. I have seen previews for all these games and unfortunately they all have a ton of potential. Most of them are the most violent games I have ever seen. Granted when I mow down headcrab zombies in half life its no pretty affair but at least then I have a good reason to. Yah, I know its just a bunch of pixels but the 13 year old mind is very impressionable so when you start seeing 6th graders joinin gangs don't say I didn't warn you.

My Review:
MK:D is one of those games that you just pick up and play and don't give a care about the rest of the world. You don't have to be a hardcore gamer or anything. It's simple and straightfoward, and that's why it's fun.
MKD has tons of unlockables numbering about 400 different things. The only bad thing is that about 200 of those are just concept art images. But you have somewhere around 24 different characters, a bunch of videos, 2 costumes for each character, pretty cool music, unlockable special attacks, arenas ect..
MKD has a lot of modes too, such as: Arcade Mode (duh), 2 player versus (once again, duh), practice mode (duh), Puzzle kombat, CHESS kombat, Konquest mode (in other words, story mode.), the krypt (where you buy everything.), kontent (where everything you buy goes.), and i think theres some other stuff.
The fighting is pretty great but, once again, it's not very hardcore and it's not very freeform. There's three fighting styles for each character; his/her's normal style, an alt. style and a character weapon. Each fighting style has tons of different attacks and each character has special attacks. There's also fatalities and hara kiris (suicides) at the end of a match.
By the way, if you're offended by blood and stuff, then this isn't the game for you. Mortal Kombat has a history of being a bloody series, but i don't think this one's quite as bad as some of the others.
The videos previously mentioned aren't very interesting either, a lot of them are just martial arts videos, or stuff like that.
The konquest mode is where you unluck all of these things (the videos, concept art, characters, arenas, ect.) and has been highly updated. It nows actually has a small story to it (not that it's all that great of a story.) and has quests, and sidequests. However, the characters in the konquest mode aren't very highly detailed and don't go very deep, this isn't Morrowind after all. The dialouge is someone corny too and the voices are kind of odd sometimes. The characters also do all these stupid things with their hands and stuff.
So, the story mode isn't all that great but if you usually have a lot of friends come over to your house that like video games you'd be surprised by how fun they'll think the multiplayer is. Even the Arcade mode is ok.

ID software has always brought us revolutionary games and technology, Doom was a revolutionary game, quake was a revolutionary game and both series have been great. Quake and Doom are well-known and people still play them today. Doom3 has done the same thing it's prodecessors have done, technology-wise. Doom3 definetly looks great and when your playing it, you love it. But once you beat it, it's not quite as good. It's not the funnest game to play over and it's multiplayer isn't all that great. With the Xbox Version you've got the added Co-op mode but even that gets old eventually, what happened to Quake3's great multiplayer? What happened to Doom1 and 2's replayability? The Moral: All games aren't as good as they look.

PC Review:
Ok, so doom3 isn't the greatest game ever, it's still a pretty great game. Doom3's graphics are the most noticable factor of the game, they're a close second behind Half-life 2. The controls aren't that much different then any other PC FPS' so they're not worth talking about. The sound is great, but that can be expected. However, Doom3's weapons are straight out of an FPS manual, except for two weapons; the series trademark chainsaw and the BFG. Doom3 suffers in originality because it has the same story as 'the ultimate doom' and, as i've already said, isn't very innovative in its weapons.

ID has confirmed a new project is being made. They've said very little but they have said that it will be a first person shooter but with a new IP. They are co-working with Raven to create Quake4 (YAY!!! :-) ).

We've barely scratched the surface so far mainly becuase ben doesn't want to start from my previous save right before the temple of ancients. FF 7 Marathon - Bent

Ok, I know this games pretty old, but it's easily one of the best Xbox shooters made and it changed the FPS genre in a couple of ways. Plus it was a pretty darn good PC shooter too (Even though it was a port and it was pretty disappointing because it wasn't any different (I think some PC gamers expect too much cuz they always expect better than what the console gamers get, and they shouldn't. Just wait till the day when consoles are more powerful then PC's (gamewise, because a PC is a multi-processing machine.)))

Xbox Version:
The Xbox Version is definitely better then the PC version, as I'm sure many people agree. This is probably because of the fact that the PC version didn't improve at all. It was the same freakin' game. It didn't change at all, not one little bit (except the flamethrower addition to the PC version.). The Xbox version ,however, was the original, so it had nothing to live up to, no expectations. It was simply an FPS. I'm sure I'm not the only one to say this when I say "Halo was the reason for Xbox and vise versa." (gamespot review) Back then Halo was the only truly great game for Xbox so everyone talked about it. Nowadays every gamer has heard of Halo and Halo2 and Halo started that. Is Halo2 a technologically better game now? Of course it is. But you have to give credits to what made that happen. (Plus there's a lot of gamers that still think Halo1 is better then Halo2...Including me.). Not only does Halo play great, it looks great, feels great and just...is great. I'm not the only one whos spent hours on end playing this game. Many gamers go back and play it again on a different difficulty because there's different endings. I personally am still working on beating the game on Legendary (only because i've been trying to keep up with newer games across ALL systems too, so i'm a little short on time and money.). I've beat the game on easy, of course and i've pretty much beat the game on normal. I'm doing heroic and legendary now. Anyway, back to the review. The graphics were revolutionary for it's time and there still pretty good by today's standards. The Game's Controls are obviously gonna be pretty good because the PC and Xbox's FPS controls are the best there are. Halo has a great and innovative story that a ton of people are familiar with now. If you say "covenant" to another gamer one of the first things there gonna think of is Halo or Halo2. Halo had a great selection of weapons, classic and new, such as the assualt rifle which you almost always kept with you, the overpowered pistol with a zoom (you completely dominated if you had this, even in multiplayer), the modern classic plasma rifle, a plasma pistol, of course a shotgun and a rocket launcher and a lot more weapons. Instead of just calling the Flood zombies they came up with a new name. There are multiple types of innovative monsters of course. There weren't exactly many problems with this game. The problems that did exist were either small, typical or were made because of the technology of the time. Halo has became a classic that any Xbox owner should definetly buy if they don't already own.

PC Review:
Ok, if you learn anything from this review learn that Halo was WAY better for the Xbox and that the PC gamers were very dissapointed. As i've stated before the PC version was pretty much the same except there was one new weapon and, of course, the graphics looked better on your PC moniter (sigh). But anyway, unless you don't own an Xbox and don't plan on buying one then buy Halo for the Xbox. This isn't exactly necessary but i will talk about the gameplay and stuff too but it isn't that much different from the Xbox Review, just written differently and the control section is obviously different. This game plays pretty much the same way as the Xbox version, and the only reason i would buy this version is for the online multiplayer. Sure the single player exactly the same as the Xbox version, but once you get done with that, you have unlimited rounds of fun destruction on multiplayer. You can just think of the poor Xbox gamers back at home sitting and playing little split-screen battles and hating the PC gamers...wait, that's me :-( . Xbox gamers have Halo2 now anyway :-D *sticks tounge out at PC gamers*. The controls are arguably better on the PC because of the mouse-keyboard control, and the classic W A S D movement controls.

Pariah icon thingy

Well Pariah came out a couple of Days ago for the Xbox and PC. (it came out 5/3/05)
and there are mixed reviews. Pretty much everywhere but Gamespot gave it a good review.

Ballistic Studios Website #2

Ben has already made a website for ballistic studios (click the Ballistic Studios Website #1 link on the sidebar). Bens website (which i helped design, but not actually make) has flashcartoons, comics, a website blog and a couple of other things. (notice: The Ballistic Studios Website #1 link is not broken the website is just having some problems loading, we are trying to fix these problems.). my ballistic Studios website however will be the other half of it, which i haven't told any1 about other then Ben and one other person. This half will based on a "company"(sort of, but they'll only be 3 people at first and we're not 20 or anything so...ya.) that will be developing video games. We are currently working on a game but i cannot disclose that information yet seeing as we have not copyrighted it....yet.

Hullo and welcome 2 the cataclyst game blog. This is blogmando her and i used 2 run a gamers shell. Now i work here! Anywho, im here 2 talk about Guild Wars. U know the mmorpg w/ no monthly fee. Well its been empressing me on the beta servers latly and it was just released. Bottum line: fun mmo for people who like people.

Nearly two years ago to this day, we gave you a first look at Guild Wars, which promised to be an innovative action role-playing game that would combine the best aspects of role-playing, action, and competitive multiplayer gaming--without those pesky monthly fees commonly associated with online RPGs. Now Guild Wars is finally available, and we're here to give you our preliminary thoughts on what certainly seems to be a one-of-a-kind game. Though Guild Wars' influences from other action RPGs and massively multiplayer games are quite apparent, the way in which it combines tried-and-true gameplay with some of its own original twists--not to mention its lovely presentation--quickly impressed us.

This is my first website so it'll be a little slow at first, but o well it can be expected. I'm a hardcore gamer so there'll be a bunch of game reviews and other game related stuff. I mainly like FPS but there'll be a bunch of other stuff too.
